Rules & FAQ’s

 
  • 8U/2nd Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 8 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 2nd grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 9 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 8U/2nd Grade division.

    9U/3rd Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 9 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 3rd grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 9U/3rd Grade division.

    10U/4th Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 4th grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 10U/4th Grade division.

    11U/5th Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 5th grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 11U/5th Grade division.

    12U/6th Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 12U/6th Grade division.

    13U/7th Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 7th grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 13U/7th Grade division.

    14U/8th Grade
    An athlete can be no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2027.
    Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 8th grade as of October 1, 2026, and who is no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2027, is eligible to compete in the 14U/8th Grade division.

  • Athletes are permitted to compete on only one team per tournament weekend. Participation on multiple teams during the same weekend is strictly prohibited.

    Violation of this rule may result in immediate removal from the event for the athlete and/or coach, and the team(s) involved will be subject to automatic forfeiture of affected games.

  • Games consist of two (2) 20-minute running clock halves.

    The clock will stop during the final two (2) minutes of the second half.

    Halftime will be three (3) minutes in length.

    Overtime periods will be three (3) minutes.

    Overtime will begin with a jump ball.

    Each team receives one (1) timeout during overtime.

    If a second overtime period is necessary, it will be sudden death. The first team to score after the jump ball will be declared the winner. No timeouts will be permitted.

  • Each team is allowed two (2) timeouts per half.

    Unused timeouts do not carry over to the second half.

  • Players will foul out after receiving five (5) personal fouls.

    Shooting fouls will result in two (2) free throws.

    Fouls committed during a successful three-point attempt will result in three (3) free throws.

    Team bonus begins on the 7th team foul and awards a one-and-one opportunity.

    Team double bonus begins on the 10th team foul and awards two (2) free throws.

    Free throws for Girls and Boys 3rd Grade divisions (and 4th Grade on combined weekends) will be taken from the first free throw lane line.

  • Any technical, flagrant, or intentional foul will result in two (2) points awarded to the opposing team and possession of the ball.

  • Teams may not press when leading by twenty (20) or more points.

    No pressing is permitted in 3rd through 5th grade divisions.

  • No jewelry may be worn during competition.

  • Each participating team is responsible for providing one (1) adult to operate the scorebook and/or scoreboard.

    Teams arriving more than ten (10) minutes after the scheduled start time may forfeit the game unless prior arrangements have been approved by the Lead Site Director.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind will not be tolerated.

    Payment of team fees or admission does not entitle any individual to behave abusively toward players, coaches, officials, administrators, or spectators.

    Fans, coaches, and players are prohibited from approaching officials after games to engage in negative interactions.

    Additional sanctions may be imposed on individuals, teams, or clubs for violations of sportsmanship expectations.

  • Coach Ejections

    Ejected coaches must leave the facility immediately.

    Game play will be paused; however, the game clock will continue to run.

    Ejected coaches have two (2) minutes to leave the facility.

    Failure to leave within the allotted time may result in game suspension and forfeiture, regardless of the score.

    Parent & Spectator Ejections

    Parents or spectators removed for excessive negative remarks or disruptive behavior must leave the facility within two (2) minutes.

    Failure to comply may result in additional disciplinary action.

    Additional disciplinary action for future games or league participation will be determined at the sole discretion of TVAC administrators.
